Paul
With regards to Serge Savard...every goalie on my list was a Norris trophy winner, finalist, or a posit-season all-star at least 3 times in their career. Savard was never a Norris Trophy finalist, nor was he ever a post-season all-star. During the lockout, both Pollock and Irvin created their all-time Canadiens team. Neither had Serge Savard on it. People forget the only reason Savard was on Team Canada 72 was the Laperriere thought the tournament was frivolous.

With regards to Pollock, Henri Richard didn't make his team either, although he had Beliveau as the 3rd centre and Morenz 4th (Lach was #1 and Malone was #2 on his list as well.)

With regards to Roy....He does not sit in the top 10 of any major Montreal goaltending leaderboards except games played (where he's 4th). All the other goalie choices do.

Roy has to go ahead of Hainsworth, Hainsworth has the shutout record but it's a different game then. Vezina likely goes ahead of him as well. Gump and Durnan also get some consideration.

The top 3 goalies in whatever order would likely be Roy, Plante and Dryden.

Serge Savard HAS to be on the blueline no matter what happens as he's definitely top 3 no matter what system is used to judge. Harvery, Robinson and Savard are the top 3 in the franchise history, there are many contenders for 4,5 & 6 and your choices will suffice, others such as Chelios for example may deserve some credit here as well. I'll go with maybe Chelios, Laperiere and Lapointe as the second half of the blueline.

As for forwards, any list that excludes Henri Richard or puts Beliveau on the 4th line is bogus really. You'll always need scorers, checkers, and enforcers around so you could mix them in nicely or go for flat out hall of fame style lineups but eitherway... Henri and Beliveau are much higher than rated here. I'll take Richard, Richard, Beliveau, Lafleur, Schutt, Naslund, Boom Boom, F.Mahovlich, Moore, Morenz, Cournoyer, and (excluding Savard for lack of time spent here) Gainey on the forward lines if it's just honourary and not a real team to be iced. If we're icing a team, Gainey, Carbonneau, Lemaire, Kordic, Ferguson, and Nilan for example would all be potentially figured into the mix somewhere.

I call shenanigans! LOL, I know you don't share my opinion about Roy and that's OK. But I think he should be ahead of Hainsworth. Come on; Hainsworth played in 20s! My question is, if Hainsworth is on there; where is Babe Dye on the Maple Leafs dynasty? Will Cy Denneny and Punch Broadbent be on the Sens dynasty? Does Joe Malone get to be on the Avs dynasty? lol these players were really old school.

~

Erica; have you seen George Hainsworth play? Were you alive then? Were your parents alive then? Grandparents? LOL

LITY; the Oilers dynasty would have a chance; they would have Gretzky. Refer to what I said in you Wings dynasty question; remember the 1980 Olympics?

~~

Oh yeah huh! I totally forgot you did a mock Leafs dynasty. My bad lol.

~~~
Wow, you people are seriously not getting me. I said they would have a chance, and they would. The Avs all-time team would have a chance against the Wings all-time team and so would the Oilers have a chance against the Habs all-time team. I have a chance of going to the North Pole tomorrow. There is a chance for anything.
~~~~

Ok, whatever Erica. :P Why are you up anyway? It should be 2 AM where you're at if my math is right...

Roy was a money goalie; look at his OT record.

Erica; you're a night owl? Wow, I consider myself to be the biggest night owl ever! If I could I'd go to sleep at 3 or 4 AM every day. But I can't (college and parents go to sleep early). I suck at waking up lol. Morning pwns me.

PuckDat: Yeah, 22 shutouts--in the 20s!!!!

~~~~~
Erica: omg! I so totally don't eat breakfast in the morning! I just can't, I'm too damn sleepy lol. Gonna go to sleep now, got stuff to do tomorrow.
PuckDat: You forgot Roy; Gainey, Shutt, Henri Richard, Roy yada yada. ;)
~~~~~~

Yep, that's Roy for ya, never losing that flare and passion. Always had that sparkle in his eyes. That's what I liked about him, that's what Theodore and Budaj lack.

could he want to go the gang? I only could not see the NHL without the Canadiens. Like cornflake without the milk. Balsillie's attempt to purchase the Penguins some years lower back fell by because of the fact he wanted to go the gang ( to Portland, Oregon or Hamilton Ontario). He has the greenbacks, i could desire that if he did purchase into the Habs that he could save them in Montreal. i could seem for him to get into possession by between the Southern communities ( Nashville for occasion).

Yo mike 22 shutouts in 44 games makes Hainsworth better than Roy. So sorry.

You could make a great team out of the guys who didn't make this team. Gainey, Shutt, Henri Richard yada yada.

Haha, you know a team is loaded with all-time greats when someone of Jean Beliveau's caliber and character is on the 4th line!

By the way... I guess Scotty Bowman would have his hands full if your dynasties faced off and it was Detroit vs Montreal. :P
