OK, I have an update: I have everything essential to starting this car, except gasoline, the fuel gauge has also stopped working are they connected? I am wondering do I need a new fuel pump, or is the fuel gauge indicative of something else? wiring maybe, I cannot find a decent wiring diagram anywhere so I don't know if one affects the other or not, please help!

When you turn the ignition on, you should hear a momentary buzzing or humming sound from the fuel tank area. That's the pump running. The fuel gauge and pump wires run together to the tank, so you might check for damage to the harness between the engine and tank. Also check the rubber wire connectors at the tank, wiggle them, remove and replace, etc. To make sure you're not getting fuel, remove the hose at the fuel filter on the engine side, attach a hose leading to a container and turn on the key. You should get fuel, if not, disconnect the hose on the pump side and try it. If you still don't get fuel, then it's not the filter and has to be the pump or wiring to the pump.
