Even though I am pro-life, pro-choice and pro-life debates aside here (because nobody ever wins those and everyone always has something to counter someone else)...
WHAT ON EARTH COULD MAKE A PERSON WANT TO BECOME AN ABORTIONIST?
I came across this the other day and seriously almost teared up.... (please be advised before visiting the link that it's an actual account from a nurse who witnessed an abortion and she leaves nothing to the imagination...)

Actually, Siava, we do plan to adopt once we're financially stable enough. It's so funny how you talk about me "griping" and then suggest something that I should do sarcastically that we've been planning to do since we married.
WTFever.

Abortions from rape account for less than 1% of all annual abortions, to the person making this point. Do the research. I have.

I think abortion is wrong no matter which way you look at it. And in my opinion it's murder of a child that has no voice of it's own.

People think about this, when we abort babies, we are killing someone who could be a future leader, or maybe someone who could find the cure for cancer, or aids, all in the name of convenience.

I honestly can never call anyone who performs abortions a doctor, because a person who is a medical doctor, is sworn to protect life, not destroy it, so they are abortionists to me.

People, she's right, the number of abortions that are the result of rape or incest is only 1%.

The majority of abortions done in this country are because of women using it as a form of birth control.

And then when they have it done, the abortion clinics don't give the full facts about the damage that is done to their bodies when they have these abortions.

The scaring phyiscally done to a woman's body. Women who have abortions have a higer risk of a miscarriage due to the scaring of the uterus after.

Then there's the emotional scaring that these abortion clinics and abortionists don't want anyone to know about.

The pain & regret, and realization that they killed a living baby. And then they have to live with that for the rest of their lives.

Abortion is WRONG.

It's a baby, NOT A CHOICE!!!!

If you don't want the baby, give it up for adoption. Let the child be raised by parents who want a baby instead of killing it, because it's not convienent for you.

Also, if women don't want these unwanted pregnancies, here's a concept, DON'T HAVE SEX!!!

Here's the big issue, we want to have rampant sex, but don't want to accept the consequences of our actions, and then when things don't go the way we want them to, we feel we need to find the easy way out.

You sounds just like me. I guess you've been to http://www.justfacts.com

People become abortionists for the money. The cost for an abortion depends on where you live and where you go to, but it's generally anywhere from $300-$500. The clinic only gets 10% of the money per abortion. So yeah, if these doctor's perform even just one abortion a day... Well that's some good money.

Imagine having no heart like that, being able to kill something so beautiful and tiny. Not only kill it, but pick through it's remains to make sure you got it all. Yeah, that's horrible.

post script:

Byran M, I really-really respect you! I researched all that as well and I am sooooo glad that there are other people out there that find out the facts about abortions.

Doctor's are supposed to,"Do no harm."

I see it as for the same reason there are NICU doctors who want to save preemies as young as 26 weeks. So many people for so long said that it was hopeless, it was wrong, the child should be allowed to die, their lives would be horrible, they'd be retarded etc etc. But these doctors saw the person behind the situation, and wanted to give them a chance. Thought they deserved medical care the same as anyone else.

Now, a doctor that performs abortions, sees the person behind the woman. Everyone else can say it's horrible, it shouldn't be done, she's not worthy of the medical attention, she should be forced to carry the baby or allowed to die in a backalley abortion attempt: but these doctors want to give the woman a chance, and think that they deserve proper medical care the same as anyone else.

I have heard people say that women who want an abortion should be killed.
And I have heard people say that a baby born before 35 weeks should be smothered or drowned.

I'm just glad that there ARE people out there who are willing to be hated in order to help the person who needs it.

I imagine if someone were not turned off by the sight of blood and from touching strangers, believed women had a say in their bodies and the futures of any fertilized eggs in their bodies, and felt the world would be better off without an unwanted child in it, then that person would become an abortionist. You don't believe in abortion? Then you adopt all of those unwanted children instead of griping about it.

Edited to say, Good for you! I'm glad you'll adopt an unwanted child. Now if only the millions of other unwanted children could be adopted...so...WTFever right back atcha. You asked the question. We've answered. You mean you weren't prepared for some bite? C'mon.

This is a passionate subject, and you make an excellent point. I think that one of the most insightful look at both sides of the subject is John Irving's The Cider House Rules. The movie doesn't do his writing justice on this particular subject, but the book is an amazing creation.

No heart and good pay. I think people who perform abortions are a sick lot. I know women performed their own at home before it became legal but if those women who abort babies saw exactly what happens when the doctor aborts that fetus limb from limb and sucks out their brain I believe we would have a lot less abortions. I think all women who go for an abortion should have to watch exactly how their fetus will be aborted before they are allowed to have the abortion and I think they should not be allowed pain killers and be awake for the whole process.

Perhaps many see it as a calling to help those who are in need.

Keep in mind that thoughout history, women have given themselves abortions (with many dying in the process).

As much as it may distress you to hear what happens in an abortion, as a medical procedure, it should be as safe as any medical procedure can possibly be.

I feel that abortions are a great tragedy, for a lot of it could be avoided in the first place.

Lets see:

A woman who was raped and is pregnant by the rapist,
A child who was raped by a family member or friend of the family.
A woman who has just found out that the child quite likely will not live and their short life will be racked with pain

or

A woman who will die if the child is carried full term.

There are many other good reasons, these are just a few.

Since all debates aside it should be an easy question- it is a job, it pays money, and to the people that do it they are making a difference. I would rather be the abortionist than the medical examiner, investigator, social worker, or funeral director of a child beaten to death.

Questions like these I avoid; but the fact that members of the human race feel that they must control something, even if it is the population will kill for the sake of the kill. Do not try to understand, just protect what you have. Killing is not always a wrong thing but I for one will avoid it as an option in life.
