If you were standing at the North Pole and you started walking 250 yards south then 150 yards east then another 250 yards north where would you end up?

I know the answer....but I tell you I keep having this argument with my wife's dad about this....sure is comical....but maybe if he sees that other people are saying the same thing maybe it will prove a point....thanks to everyone that have answered the question.

You would end up at the north pole.

Since north would always point towards the north pole, and east would always circle the north pole, you'd be walking in a triangular arc and end up right back where you started.

Are you following the curvature of the globe or a map view?

Following the curvature you would end up at the pole. Following a flat map you would not.
