...it drives me up the wall because they almost always talk ten times louder than if they were talking to someone sitting right in front of them. Does anyone else feel this way, and if so, have you ever said anything to that person?

OMG yes, i find it rude. I was out back in my garden the other night and i could hear, some women yaking away 4 gardens down from me. Once did a mate of mine tell a fella in a restaurant, that he needed to talk in his "INSIDE VOICE" he came to enjoy a meal and not to listen to some clown go on and on about nothing, on his damn cell.............

It can annoy. My hubby talks loud wherever he is on his phone and I am always telling him to shush. I find the worst is when someone gets a call in the movies. My best friends did that a few months ago even though I reminded her to turn it off. She said "Oh I will just put it on silent " then half way into the movie her ph rang and I was mortified as she was saying hello and actually having a conversation. She could have just hung up as rude as it may have been and called them back. People stared and shook their heads at me as she proceeded to get up and walk out still talking. OMG how embarrassing.

It doesn't bother me. It's a restaurant... a social atmosphere, and it's usually loud, and I expect that to be the case. Even if they were talking 10x's louder than they might otherwise have if another person were there, I never expect my experience at a restaurant to be peaceful and quiet.

I have never been bothered by that, because I have never noticed anyone talking on his or her cellphone at the restaurants I was in.

I hate it, fairly this entire "texting" phenomena. not basically is it impolite yet whats soo significant it is valuable to communicate about at present in any case? i imagine it is stupid for people to do at the same time as driving, once you're gonna textual content andchronic, would besides attempt your luck at driving with a blindfold.
