It's a matter of ignorance. If it's the popular thing to do, people will go with it. The hippie celebrities hate him, so everyone else has to. That's what it all boils down to. I have my own mind and do my research so therefore, I'm a Bush supporter. I think those who "hate" Bush are more vocal because they do it for attention. There are more supporters than haters out there ; )
