Most definitely, you can see much of his beliefs in his stories. He was also friends with C S Lewis.

Yes, he was a Catholic. Interestingly, he was friends with C.S. Lewis, a Protestant.

They disagreed about certain elements in Lewis' Narnia books, such as whether or not Father Christmas should be a part of the story.
