Right now all I have is a CD-RW Drive for my Desktop and I'm looking to replace it with something that can accomplish the following:

I want to be able to burn documents, pictures, music, and movies to CD/DVDs (to back up stuff, transfer files, make a CD, DVD, whatever).

Most importantly, I want to be able to take DVDs I have and watch them on my computer, put them on my computer or copy them to another DVD disc (so I can be able to watch them on a TV, not just the computer). I want to be able to do the same with movies I download (avi, mpg, whatever). I just want them to turn out DVD-quality, and if I can avoid it, I'd like to make sure the process of creating/duplicating a DVD doesn't take hours.

I'm pretty sure you know what I'm looking for. I think what I'm in the market for is a CD/DVD-+R/RW Combo Drive or something, but I don't know if that's the name exactly or what.

I just want someone to help me understand exactly what I'm looking for and what's the best one to get.

Hi. To burn a DVD quality disk (for a DVD player, not your computer) requires software. I use 1 Click DVD but it is pricey. There may be less expensive (or maybe free) programs that can do the same thing, but that's what I use.
