I've noticed recently I've been hearing a lot more abou this guy from many different types of people who say they want to vote for him? And not in a rabid, zealous, Ron-Paul zombie sort of way either (thank the powers that be!). If you are a Huckabee supporter, explain how this guy who used to be a nobody all of a sudden started getting noticed!

Please don't post YouTube links, I am not going to watch them. Just tell me what you have to say in your own words, you don't need someone elses.

Good question.
Let's see...
1) Yes...he did destroy hard drives before he left office.
2) He pardoned a rapist that was supposed to serve 20-30 years for raping a young girl. The girl pleaded with him to reconsider. The rapist was pardoned and raped 2 women in Missouri, killing one of them.
3) The ridiculous crime and drug problem that can be seen in several Arkansas cities...from rural communities to Little Rock.
4) His national sales tax idea to replace state sales tax.
5) Jobs in Arkansas...the third poorest state in the nation.

I don't think he has what it takes to be president.

Have you ever heard of a whispering campaign? The candidate doesn't campaign. His staff don't campaign. Instead, a bunch of "whisperers" start going around, talking him up amongst everyone.

In Iowa, Mitt Romney has been leading in the polls for months. This was bad news for Rudy Giuliani, Fred Thompson, and John McCain, but ideal for Mike Huckabee. If Huckabee had to compete with any of the others for the top spot in Iowa, he'd be in trouble. But since Romney is a Mormon, Huckabee can undercut him by playing the "Christian" card.

Huckabee is a former Baptist minister. A whispering campaign in Iowa, completely "unconnected" with the "official" Huckabee campaign, has been touting his Christian credentials even more than his conservative ones. People suspicious of Romney's religion have flocked to Huckabee as the alternative. It's a strategy that wouldn't have worked against any other frontrunner.

Or in most other states, for that matter. Huckabee's still low in most of the early primary states, and Romney's still up. But in Iowa, with its huge block of evangelical voters, a Baptist can do very well against a Mormon.

I don't know about having a beer with him (He's a Baptist and so am I) but he comes across as a low-key person and hasn't bothered people much. It looks like the loudest mouths (Romney, Guiliani and Clinton) are the ones sinking fastest. Maybe people have had enough of hard-sell and obvious lies. Huckabee is the only Republican running that has a chance next year. The politician that used to be John McCain is viewed as having sold out in '04, and they are spreading rumors that that obvious lump on the left side of his jaw is a tumor.

If it's Huckabee vs Obama next year, it will be a difficult choice. If Obama and Edwards are on the Dem. ticket, that's who I'll vote for. As a Republican, I can't vote for either in the primaries.

It was easy for me to join the a-huck-i-bee train. Some of the reasons I like.

1 Second amendment

2 Close the borders

3 Know's who God is and is not afraid to say it

4 NOT A FLIM FLAM artist.

5 Federal sales tax, would look just like the state tax we already have in place here.

The left wing media is afraid of Rudy and Mitt, so they want to promote a candidate that Hillary can beat. Huckabee is a RINO, that's a Republican In Name Only.

Vote for Rudy!

Huckabee had been performing well on the debates and his opinions are being entertained by the people very well.

He is likeable, witty, and a real conservative. He is not part of the Washington crowd. He is a Christian and not ashamed to declare it in front of other people. And, he is for the Fair Tax (see Fairtax.org). That alone makes me want him to run and win the office.

Huckabee was not a household name like Hillary. Early in elections, before people know the facts, they often go for a name they have heard before. Now, with more people hearing about Huckabee, they like what he says. Huck will turn Hill er y in to a molehill.

He is the lesser of all the evils on the right side. I am still not a supporter but he seems to have a level head.

I think he is going to get the "you can have a beer with him" vote that W got...
