i have a six-string electric guitar and i only know how to tune my guitar to standard tuning. i need to know what my tuner should read for drop-d and drop-c. i have a basic tuner that can only read open strings and not chords

ok. for drop d
tune your low e to your 3rd d string.
for c tune to d. then drop, (harmonize with the c on the a string)
or pay 9 dollars for a decent chromatic tuner/metronome

any tuner sound be able to tune that.. you r not tuning chords... only the note of the string.... if your gonna use a drop C tuning your gonna need to get a heavier string size... like 11-50 instead of 9-46
