Go to Spencers at the mall. I'm sure you will find something there that an older gentleman will really like.

What are their intrests? An informative book on hunting, fly fishing, or something. Do they enjoy cars? A calender with those pin up girls from the 40's or 50''s, if their one of those types. My grandfathers would probably want some chewing tobaccy, or if the other was alive a 24 pck of beer. Maybe a pocket watch or suspenders? A coffee mug......God, I don't know. You didn't go too much in detail......

A gift certificate to a nice resturant, spa, for a massage, barber shop/hair salon, golf, book store, or other favorite store. Tickets to a play, movie, concert, opera, ball game, or other sports event of his liking. A weekend getaway such as a fishing trip, casino, a cabin rental in the mountains, or a cruise on a lake or down a river. Can also make your own certificates for favors such as cleaning his house, doing his shopping, cooking a dinner, baking some cookies, etc. Merry Christmas!

I would recommend that you get him a magazine. For me, it is the gift that keeps on giving. My personal favorite is Mental Floss magazine. It is full of random knowledge. The great part for an old person is that it will keep them up to date on current news and may in fact teach them a thing or two. Check out other cool and unique gifts at www.viewpoints.com/giftguide. You can see gift ideas by personality type. Hope that helps. Good luck!
