I am kinda dating this one guy. I have known him for a while, but really, I have been dating him for a week. My parents don't know, but when I started to like him, then they make a big deal about interracial stuff. He's black/puerto rican and i am white/panamanian. But they think my reputation would be ruined. I don't know if it's because of the white/black thing (my parents have nothing against black, but they still act like it's 1969), but I love him and he loves me and I wanna find a way to tell my parents that i love him and that race doesn't matter, but I am too afraid. This guy is amazing and him and we love the same stuff (Guitar Hero and heavy metal music). I wanna tell my parents that race doesn't matter to me and that love is love, but how?

Parents never change there minds about what they believe in, but if you bring him around as a friend and let them figure out how amazing he is, maybe they will see he respects you and treats you right. Then you tell them later you are more than friends.

just set down with your parents and listen to what they have to say, and why they feel the way they do.............
you must look far into the future to have a full understanding of what your parents are trying to.

both families and your future kids will play a major role in your decisions.
love is a great thing, but it takes alot more then just love to have a peaceful life........

after all, who is better to take advice from then ones own parents.........
you're young and people here will say go for it, its ok if you love him, but it's your life, not theirs, so choose and choose well.........
best to you and your family........
