Everyone in the whole world knows there were never any WMD's and knows this is an illegal war yet congress does nothing. When the oil companies boast PROFITs in the 10's of millions and it is price gouging why does congress do nothing?
Please bear in mind that congress has the obligation to keep the president in line or get impeachments going. These are the same senators that want to run the country. Do nothings want the most important job in the USA.......

Because Congress is just as corrupt as every other politician. It's as if their job is to do nothing. In reality, they are there to protect us, so they defeated their purpose. They feel that, now that they have already been elected, they can just sit there until it's time to get elected again. We should run for Congress, so that we can do something.

It's because the Congress is very divided and doesn't have enough power to do hardly anything that Bush won't veto. The Senate has 51 Democrats to 49 Republicans including Lieberman who is just as hawkish as any Republican. Most of the bills have either been filibustered by the Republicans (I thought they always wanted an up or down vote?) or Bush vetoes them. There's too many Democrats that were elected from very Republican districts so they don't have the guts to go out on a limb and there aren't enough Republicans willing to put principal over party. I'm sure there's plenty of stuff the Democrats could impeach Bush for to make a point, but it takes time to make a case for it and they're too worried because of the backlash against Republicans after impeaching Clinton.

Who told you it was an illegal war? Are you a lawyer? Do you really know the law? Why do people keep saying this war is about oil? The debt we have run up going to war far out numbers the amount of profits that anyone is making. Do the math.

this is the worse congress ever. i disagree with you about war i thought hussein was a threat and im glad hes gone. i want usa to win war. oil companies are supposed to make profits and its not congresses business. there is no evidence of price gouging. bush has done nothing to be impeached. by the way, he will be gone next year and you can blame someone else for your problems then. you sound confused to me

Well Joshot, before I go any farther you need to KNOW that MOST people in the world THOUGHT that Saddam Hussein had nuclear weapons and once the United Nations puts out lauguage that says that you (Saddam Hussein) must give up the weapons of else face military consquences and once the US Congress AGREES with the US President and SAYS in a resolution to DO WHAT is necessary to separate him from the use of the weapons and once that Congress appropiates the FUNDS to do just that, it would be unsavory at best for the President to ignore them. If it were to come to pass that he in fact DID have nuclear weapons, we as a nation would look pretty silly having sat on the sidelines and done nothing.

It is this aura of doing nothing or appeasement that got us into WW ll with Hitler. Britains' Chamberlain came back from a "summit" with Hitler waving a treaty paper in his hands stating that "we have negoiatiated 'Peace in our Time' ".

A few days later Germany invaded Poland and forced Braitain into the start of WW ll

Now to your misguided impression that it is the Congress' job to keep the President in line or else start impeachment hearings is ludircrous.

The application of the impeachment clause of the US Constitution is reserved for removing elected officials for High Crimes and Misdemeanors. In the case instant, if they were to start impeachment hearing on the basis of our foray into Iraq, they would have to take half of the Congress down with them. Bush DID NOT go this war alone. He only found himself alone in this war when the spineless Congress could no longer stand the political heat generated by the war.

You are corresct as to your charecterization of the Congress as "Do Nothings" but it is quite obvious that you don't have a clue as to what is up or down either. You read the wack-off web sites from these left winger organizations and you just jump in the boat with them with NO consideration for the truth or reality of any comments or situation.

It will be an interesting observation from my vantage point in 10 years to see the look on your face when real history starts to be written about President Bush and he starts to be compared to the likes of Truman or Lincoln.

You are blinded by the lies from a 100 different sources with a hundred different agendas while those of us who know the truth of the matter only have a single reference point for our beliefs, reality.

When you get over your drug induced stupor you will have a lot to answer for.

Um, what do WMD's have to do with oil companies?

You're just ranting. Your post consists of several unconnected ideas that are incoherently stringed together.

What war? As far as I know, Congress has not yet declared war in Iraq. And I've been to Iraq, so I doubt I missed that.

Why would an "informed individual" want to answer the questions of someone that is so obviously not informed?
