Any suggestions? If Alpha is the informal name, then why isn't it the official name? What about naming it after Galileo, Kepler, Yuri Gagarin, or even Christa McAuliffe?

actually many have it incorrect.

it was nick named "Space Station Alpha" by its first crew.

but, if you look at each "part" of the ISS http://www.space.gc.ca/asc/img/iss-configuration.jpg
you'll notice that each country nick names their own major parts.

Hi. 'International Space Station' seems to fit the bill. My opinion.
