I need to get it down. I think my tummy muscles have seperated to accomodate the baby. What exercises can i do?

I dont think my belly was this huge first time around, although i am not sure. I thought i would just have a paunch! Most women's paunchs start at the lower part of the abdomen, while my tummy bulges from the very top. I amnot being melodromatic - it reall is very big.

However i did gain a lot of weight AFTER the birth of my first child, however i thought i lost some of that during pregnancy ( i tend to eat better when pregnant cos naughty food makes me ill)

PS I am breastfeeding so I cant diet and its very hard find time to go jogging with a 2 yr old and a 2 month old!! So bear with me!

I just had twins over three months ago and I have the big belly that is high up on my abdomen instead of low like I thought it would be. I have also found it to be nearly impossible to make it go away and I am a very fit and otherwise slim person.

Even though breast feeding requires extra calories it also requires extra body fat. They say to expect it to take a year to get back to your pre-pregnancy shape.

Several people have told me that they kept their belly and an extra 10lbs until they stopped breast feeding...then it went away relatively quickly. My doctor says it's an individual thing and not to compare yourself to others.

With little ones to look after and all the other life stuff to get done while they are napping, it's hard to fit exercise in.

Just eat as healthy as possible, get as much rest as you can, and look for little pockets of time to fit exercise it. Push-ups off the bathroom or kitchen counter when you are getting ready or making dinner, lifting your little ones up and down, walking around the house with them, taking the stroller out to the park or a mall, etc. Do isometric abdominal work whenever you think about it....taking your baby out of the crib, getting up off the couch, standing in line, etc.

Right now, your focus should be on taking care of your children and not gaining any more weight. There will be plenty of time to lose the belly a few months down the road. Enjoy your little ones they won't be this age forever......

They say that you show sooner with the more pregnancies you have had. Since you just had a baby less than a year ago I would say it's normal. I have a friend that found out she was pregnant at her son's 1 year check up and she got big fast. People thought she was about to pop when she was only 5 months along. You could also be having more than one. Who knows.

welp, when baby is takin its nap... try yoga, simple little things that don't cause too much strain and can leave you energized for your kids... otherwise, just watch what you eat, eat more whole grains... but most of the time, it does take people a lot longer than 8 weeks to get their tummys back. good luck
