Does she have any other jewelry? If it seems she goes for silver (or white gold) that would be your best bet, or if she goes more for yellow go with that. Generally in determining what metal looks best you have to think about skin tone. If she has a "warm" (sun-tanned, dark, or olive color) tone go with yellow. If she has a "cool" tone (pale, pinkish) go with white gold or silver. Pay attention to which colors look best on her also, if she wears a lot of brighter colors (think rainbow) yellow gold would probably be better. If she goes more for the earthy colors, like tan, brown, green, etc. go with the white gold or silver. Good luck, and good decision with the jewelry! You can almost never go wrong in that department with a woman!

What kind of jewelry does your gf wear? that will give you a hint. If not, white gold is a sure winner because silver will tarnish or you could go for stainless steel (they are nice with simple lines) which is cheaper than gold but never tarnishes, you can look at the link below.

If you are serious about this girl and you can afford it, buy something in yellow or white gold. If you are not really serious about her, or you are both very young, go with silver. Don't buy it at Walmart, that is where you buy toilet paper. Go to a nice store that gift wraps, plus there will be someone to help you to choose something appropriate. Good luck!

silver well not silver white gold! yellow gold is more for the older generation - but it depends on personal preference you should see what metal her other jewelry is or is she tends to own accessories that are more of one metal then the other. personally i think yellow gold is tacky.

I would prefer silver, but white gold is really pretty too. Yellow gold is too shimmery and doesn;t really look good. ur choice thoug. what does she like better/wear more often? hope this helps! good luck!

i like silver, but sterling silver kinda sucks. white gold is pretty.

You should know your girlfriend's preference. What does she like? What does she wear? What does she admire in store windows?
Otherwise, ask her best friend or Mom.
