Do you make up your own mind about politics or are you influenced by a celebrity's support for a candidate? I like (liked) Obama, but am turned off by the whole Oprah thing and the media hype; it's so overboard and feels like a born-again revival fest. He shouldn't need this type of campaigning. Why would anyone vote for him just because she says so?

Oprah's support of Obama has turned me off him. If he takes her advice, what sort of politician is he? This is very disappointing and makes it clear that it's more about voting for a black person rather than voting for the best person.

Our country doesn't need this sort of racial divisiveness. Shame on you Oprah for meddling in politics on such a large scale. You are intentionally using your popularity to sway voters. Let them decide for themselves.

No way! I can think for my self. So Obama's up in the polls thanks to Oprah; she has no place in politics. It's insulting to women to suggest they'd vote for somone because Oprah says so.

Celebrities are not well informed about international relations, the economy--other than their own big bank accounts--how to negotiate well with other politicians, etc. Celebrities should stick to what they know best, entertainment.

Oprah's choice for president?? God save us.

We do not need a president who needs a talk show host for support. We need a leader who is politically savvy and isn't wet-behind-the ears.

Remember Jimmy Carter? He was to be the "fresh face, and new attitude" for president. Look where that naivete got us.

Generally Celebrity endorsements do not work out. Oprah is any different ? Whom shall she influence ?The Blacks ? The Whites also ? Women only ? All Women ( White, Black, Hispanic, Others) ?

Logic says she may not be able to influence the Whites much but Women below thirty years aggrieved with Hillary behaving different from them that she did not readily divorce at the very first moment of Monica Lewinsky affair known to her may likely be. But no one can take them for granted when it comes to exercising their privilege of voting ( after having reached the polling station ) which even illiterates in third world use zealously.

So it leaves the Blacks and women particularly. Young Black males may agree and vote in bulk. But mature men may not vote passionately on race basis. They shall use their discretion. It may break out evenly. That leaves Black women. Here also young ladies may vote passionately for same race . But senior women in large percentage may ( secretly) vote for the white woman.

These observations are summarization after visiting several sites on internet dealing with Oprah's endorsement of Obama.

Still it is a strong personal opinion young and energetic Obama teams up with Hillary and gains hands on experience
in both national and international matters as VP; may be 4 / 8 years (by which time he will be only 54 years) and shall win hands down the US Presidency. If they team up it will be the most formidable combination in the present setting - a white woman well entrenched in domestic and international politics and a Black male with youthful vigor and vitality, but not so exposed and experienced.

If it grow to be merely a well-known advert at encouraging human beings to vote and exercising a stressful gained real and not in favour of any particular party or view then it somewhat is an invaluable gadget. it somewhat is barely approximately 70 years considering the fact that women folk gained the excellent to vote and doubtless no longer all that for the time of the past vote casting grow to be limited to specific communities of male experts and landed gentry and so on. Our device nevertheless very badly incorrect and regrettably as corrupt as ever continues to be greater effectual than any form of feudal, divine or unelected ruler shape. the venture is getting human beings to work together with the 'question' and debate. One attainable reluctance to communicate now's the 'sensitivity' situation and the venture in raising fears without being labelled prejudiced. Our pc set up with its solid intentions at battling bullying by discrimination has stifled countless debate. gruesome perspectives are gruesome and offencive by making use of their nature yet greater effectual such perspectives are expressed and challenged than allowed to fester. Take the launch of the Pullman e book right this moment identify: the solid guy Jesus and the scoundrel Christ. Deeply offencive while you're a Christian without even analyzing the e book. The identify is provocative and human beings will anticipate the content is vehemently anti Christian (which it somewhat is) yet few will study it or want to study it in the event that they're Christian, yet greater effectual it somewhat is on the industry and venture-able than we stop debating the fee and values of Christianity. Mr. Pullman may well be an atheist yet that would not recommend he would not have clever perspectives approximately faith and its complicated stressful circumstances. So human beings like Pullman may well be no solid on your poster as their very own perspectives are too properly universal. yet different 'celebs' from a independent view under the identify: Politics; bypass on enable's communicate approximately it... or comparable slogan ought to help, because it somewhat is debate that finally ends up in a desire to particular your perspectives by making use of vote casting, no longer vote casting that expresses perspectives. solid success with your college communicate

The Oprah thing makes me want to puke. Why in the world would anyone care what her thoughts are in terms of presidential candidates? Considering the nutcases that are in Hollywood these days, I would NOT vote for anyone who campaigned with one of these losers.

I am voting for Obama in spite of Oprah, not because of her. I can understand her wanting to use her notoriety and money to help him get elected, and there are a lot of women who value her opinion. I hope it gets him more votes. I hope she can mobilize women and black people that would not otherwise vote to get out and vote for him. Republicans don't even attempt to garner the votes of black people since they are only 13% of the general population--and they figure they won't get out and vote anyway.

I'm interested in knowing who the celebrities are backing, especially people like Michael Moore and Brad Pitt. Just curious, though--it wouldn't change my mind.

Obama in '08.

"Well, the facts are since she started supporting Obama, Hillary has been losing votes daily & Obama has been surging up, which means a sizeable number of Oprah fans have made up their minds whom to vote for. Hillary's best chance was the women's vote bank, but now quite a number of them have changed their minds and are voting for Obama."

Celebrity endorsements are entirely irrelevant to me. I research the candidates and the issues, then I select my candidate.

Vote for Rudy!

Celebrities need to stay out of politics unless they are running for office themselves.

I believe it is wrong for them to use their influence in politics when they might be dumber than my brother.

And how would we know, they are actors right?
