Sometimes, it really depends on how bad the things are. Yes, a fresh new start of the year might help to forget the past. It isn't just Christmas that makes me forget every bad things; when I'm with some people that makes me laugh, it's one way to forget bad things and enjoy the moment!

I try to put things like that aside, and not let them interfere with celebrating. It's hard, but I refuse to let the nasties ruin the holiday!
