There are a lot of mixed opinions on this one... I love it but does anyone else like it or have any other favourites for a boy

Honestly? Every time I hear this very-common choice, I wonder if the parents even ARE avid hunters, or if it was just another random word name chosen simply because the parents thought it sounded "cool," with absolutely zero thought as to the very-obvious literal connotations.

Now if you actually are an active gamesman, I'm not making any judgment calls regarding your chosen hobby or means of sustenance. However, if you seriously just latched onto this already-overused, trendy "name" without being fueled by any personal significance, I simply cannot understand the appeal. "One who tracks and kills" is NOT exactly a pleasant or even positive image to attach to your child. And given that it's such an apparent meaning -- not like something along the lines of Pantheras, which is rather obscure and very few will be familiar with the etymology -- it seems an oddly random, even violent choice, to be frank. I don't care for it AT ALL.

I really like it!! Have you thought of middle names for it? How about Hunter Riley, Hunter Reid, Hunter James, Hunter Nicholas, or Hunter Alexander?
♥Congrats and good luck!

Hunter is a pretty masculine name. Hope he can live up to it. My niece named her kid Pilot. What is it with occupations for names these days? What happened to great classic names like David, Andrew, Steven and the like?
