There were some questions about Lieberman concerning his religion. I recall many came when a debate was moved from a Saturday because it is the Sabbath for him.
But a lot of questions asked by the media are questions that are brought up to them, questions they hear while on the campaign trail, often by opponents. So when the religious right starts a whisper campaign about how his Mormon faith isn't really Christianity, when a major religious leader publically puts his support behind Guilliani, whose positions seem less in line with his than Romeny, the media (at least the talking heads on the "new analysis" shows) starts to ask questions.

I don't see the media "targeting" Mitt Romney.
The Republican Religious Right Wing has made religion a key issue.
One questioner in the CNN/you tube Republican debate asked if the Republican candidates believed "every word in this book (the Bible)."
The Christian Right Wing is making the candidates' spiritual standing a litmus test for electing a president. What they forget is that we're electing a national president, not a spiritual king.

I don't see how the media have targeted Mitt Romney's religion. Mormons in politics include Harry Reid, Orinn Hatch and even Glenn Beck. Who other than GOP primary voters is even talking about it?

the ADL would denounce the "liberal" media as antisemitic because they would view it as an attack on Israel. Lieberman is rabidly pro israel thus has AIPAC, Alan Dershowitz, ADL etc. behind him. Mormons are nothing outside of Utah.

One reason is that Jewish people don't proselytize or force their views onto non-Jews, meanwhile the LDS is one of the most aggressive and successful proselytizing religions in the world. Anyways their both douchebags.

Untrue. The Christian Right have targeted Romney due to his religion. The GOP is becoming the party of prejudice, sad to say.

If you own the media you can say or not say what you want to.
They all know that religion is just to fool the people but money is what counts.

Because there is nothing else to attack Mitt Romney. Plus, Mormonism is always a hot button especially in the Bible belt.

They're not. It's some fundamentalist republicans who seem to have a problem with Romney's religion.
