That has always been my plan every since I could remember. When I was in kindergarten, I wanted to be a singer. But for some strange reason, I want to be a writer. When I was in the 4th Grade, I made an "2" on my TAKS Writing Composition. "2" means passing, but not very good. Right then and there, I said to myself that I will never be a writer. But now, I want to be one! I want to share my creative mind with the world! I'm already sharing my thoughts on Yahoo! Answers, why not the world? Last year, I took another TAKS Writing Composition and still made the same "2". I thought I was improving in my writing! I'm making an "90" in Journalism! Most of my class made "60s" and "70s" in there! When I grow older, I may change careers. But I do know that when I grow up and live on my own, I want to be successful! Not worrying about money problems, not worrying about losing my job! Just want to be successful. How can I achieve that?

A good habit to have when you are aspiring to be a writer is to keep a daily journal. This helps immensely to get into the writing habit. There are a number of things that are a good idea to do. Concentrate on doing well in your English classes. Concentrating on improving your vocabulary, to name a couple. If you truly have the burning desire to write you will find a way. You have a lot of time to develop your techniques, style and talent. I do a lot of writing myself and I am now in the process of putting one of the books that I have written into print. I wish you much success in your aspirations.

How can you miss? Don't worry about success at this stage of your life, you have every opportunity to follow your dream.
Success is not always defined in terms of money.

If you want to be a writer, keep on writing. Don't listen to those TAKS, all that means is that you don't like that format. The 90 in journalism has to count for something.

Writing is something you can do anywhere, anytime. Your community probably has local newpapers, people have newsletters, everybody likes to know someone who can contribute something written. You can start a blog or contribute toward someone elses's.

Money doesn't come easy in writing. Most writers wrote for years before they made money on it. You may never write a popular novel, but who knows?

Well you really just have to find the good and bad things about each job. By your picture I can tell that I can see you singing on stage you are very pretty, but you seem like you want to write more. Well really what I say is you can be both! You can write books, articles, etc. and still sing. A lot of people do that. Writers like J.K. Rowling make a lot of money, but usually singers make more especially if you are like Mariah Carey, and other people. To be sucessful you fust really need to wait to, you are going to fast, don't think like you have to choose now. To acheive this for singing take lessons and do scales. To be a writer, I say practice poems, stories, and enter them into contests. I know at my school, there is a Young Authours contest. I was the youngest person ever to go to state level and win first place for a poem. I was in the 2nd grad and 7. Also ask your English teachers for tips and look on the interenet. Also what I love doing is story starters. What you do is somebody starts a story off for you and you finish it. Like here is one.

(a girl name for 18 year old) was walking down a street, when suddenly a car came speeding down the road.

Now you finish the rest, if you want you can email it to me. You can do anything you want. Good Luck!

i don't have any advice about the successful part, but about the writing:

i'm 14 and i really want to be a writer too. my advice is to never take another TAKS test unless you have to. those test scores don't really reflect the person's abilities. your journalism score is probably a far better indicator of your ability and potential. one test can't tell your abilities. maybe the format of the test isn't something that works for you. so forget about your test score.

what you should do right now, if you want to be a writer, is write. read a lot and really notice what is good writing and what isn't. and write all you can, whenever you can. keep a journal and if you ever have the idea to write a story or poem about something, do it. seriously. maybe share something you write outside of class with a writing teacher for feedback and constructive criticism. read a lot as well. it enriches your vocabulary and understanding of grammar, and, without realizing it, will enhance the quality of your writing.

and here's a website, if you like to write poems: http://www.poeticpower.com/

they put out books of kid's poems each year. i have a poem published in there. there are loads of poems in there and if your poems are decent, they'll get published there. they publish about half the poems that are submitted. everyone in my class sent a poem in, and like half of them got published there. getting a poem published is a major confidence boost, and it's awesome to see your work and your name in the book.

i don't think there's a way to be perfectly financially and career-wise secure. for now, get good grades. and do lots of clubs and activities to get a feel for what you're interested in. then focus on what you love, but stay open to other possibilities. and hopefully things will fall into place. but there's no one-size-fits-all solution. personally i'd rather be happy then rich. i don't want money worries or job worries, but happiness is important too. don't worry about that for now, you'll have plenty of time for worrying about it in the future. here's a great quote to remind you to live in the now: "don't rent your moments out to the future." so basically just enjoy things now, do what you love, and write all you can.

Well, if you're interested in writing. Try asking your journalism teach extra projects you can do or for help in writing. Join social clubs at school or in your neighborhood. Read stories online, recognize yourself with famous literature. Learn about the sonnets made by Shakespeare. Develop your imagination and stories. Study vocabulary to make better adjectives for sentences. What my language teacher always tell me "Instead of writing ' The car rode down the street' write 'The beautiful fire-red 1998 Classic Ferari rode down 125th street as the sun glistened on the waxed surface reflecting pure beauty'." Trust me, with this, you can get that perfect 6.

If you have family members that you can talk to or feel are more stable than your parents- explain your home life, maybe they can help. Its probably not the easiest thing to do, but it might help if you just told your parents (when you catch them sober and not fighting) how much it is hurting you. I think sometimes when people are so caught up in battling each other they forget about the children who are in the middle. (Because the fighting is the big deal in their life at the time). Never forget that you matter, and that you should ever be treated the way your parents are treating you and each other. Ask for help from someone you trust. But don't trust everyone. Talk to a teacher, or someone at church, be careful..keep your chin up Good Luck you'll be in my prayers.

Me too. I got a perfect score in English on our state wide test. Which only like 10 kids in the state got. So I'm the like pluming. Because you get TONS of money. But meanwhile, same age as you, and I really want to be a writer too. My advice is go to the Tech, if your district has one. And take up a course take writing courses that you can go to after school, outside school clubs.

First of all, I wouldn't worry about the TAKS writing! It sounds like you're more of a journalistic type writer than personal narrative! Just keep making good decisions and set goals for yourself! Also, find friends who want to be successful also - surround yourself with good friends with goals!

I can't tell you how refreshing it is to hear a nice young lady talk about wanting to become strong, independent and successful. You'll find your passion, just remember these things:

1. DO NOT become one of those absolutely useless twits who only cares about fashion, boys, Hannah Montana, or having the right friends.

2. DO NOT listen to the idiots who will try to drag you down by telling you it's uncool to be good in school... It's actually VERY cool, and you will be grateful you did for the rest of your life.

3. STAY AWAY from bad influences (MTV, people who smoke, drink, have sex before commitment, etc.)

4. Be respectful to your parents.

I wish you were my daughter!!
