Porter Goss former CIA director was the fraternity brother of George W. Bush's uncle. Goss was nominated by Bush to serve as the Director of the CIA. The nomination of Bush's family buddy was challenged by many key democrats however Goss got the job. During Goss's reign he sent controversial memo's to the CIA staff indicating that they needed to "support the administration and it's policies in our work". The CIA is supposed to be unbiased as to political affiliation to give true intelligence reports that do not support the accusations of one party. It was under his leadership that the interrogation tapes were destroyed. Now, Bush does not "recall" knowing his buddy did this. What do you think?

A1M1Mike- The Intelligence Identities Protection Act of 1982 is to protect the identities of CIA agents/officers. Your assumption which is not fact based that the Dems would have posted on the net is ludricrious. In fact, it was the Bush administration that leaked the identity of CIA officer Valerie Plume Wilson under the direction of the White House. Scooter Libby was sentenced for the leak yet Bush pardoned him. How can you substantiate no punishment to the administration that put Ms Wilson and her family at risk for retaliation from US enemies?? I agree that the identities of agents need to be confidential. The point of the destruction of the tapes was because of the torture methods used. This was proof of what the Bush admin is advocating. This is why it was destroyed not because of fear of public viewing. Quite frankly your lack of knowledge is sickening.

Maybe all of you should stop and think for a moment.
How many of you think that if the Democrats got a hold of those tapes that they would not be posted to the internet within 24 hours?
And does anybody think that the faces of the interrogators will be concealed - or will the Democrats will not care if Al Queda can identify those people?
We are very carefully protecting the identities of people doing specific anti-terrorist tasks because we do not want AQ targeting their families.
You people make me sick.
But I bet none of you care about that. You just want to promote your political opinions and do not care how many people die as a result.
Edit:
Do you really think that the Dems would not leak the tape? If so - you really need to pay attention to recent history.
The fact of the matter is that I have been in the intelligence field and can flat out say: We Do Not Trust You. You have demonstrated time and time again that you will place political opportunism over the safety of our service members and the welfare of the nation.
Read your own words above and ask yourself if anybody can trust you. You would release that information in a heartbeat if it is to your political advantage - and not care about the people whose lives you endanger by doing so.

"His buddy" was, let me get this straight, his uncle's fraternity brother? Are you kidding? I wouldn't even know if my uncle was in a fraternity, never mind hire the guy. It's not like Goss was some kid Bush grew up with. The guy was a Yale grad and trained CIA agents in the 60's. I'm pretty sure Bush didn't have a thing to do with either of those. I'm also pretty sure Bush had nothing to do with electing him to Congress for 16 years. Bottom line: the guy was qualified.
As for helping out / hiring friends, is Bush the first President to do either of those things? Bill Clinton hired a longtime friend, of his not his uncle, to head the Department of Labor. Bill Clinton pardoned his brother and a huge "donor". I don't "think" much of a President hiring or helping out a friend. It's what politicians do.

It occurs to me that Uncle what' his nuts held on to his ginbong about 50 years too long. The idea that we didn't and don't torture is absurd. Ask anyone who spent time in the bush in Vietnam about taking one member of a captured cadre of NVA or Viet Cong and taking them 800 feet in the air and pushing him out to loosen the tongues of his comrades. We have long been plagued by the phony Puritanism our leaders portray One of the things that fueled the protests against the Vietnam War was the showing of silver caskets on the evening news. Hell, this administration,
won't allow cameras anywhere near Dover AFB in Delaware.
That's where they offload, in the same silver luggage, I might add, the sons, daughters, parents, and grandchildren of the patriotic and non-patriotic alike.
Does torture work? There is evidence to suggest that it does not The convenient amnesia suffered by top officials in our government is simply business as usual. The CIA is always headed by someone with limited intelligence and a long standing relationship with the President. We the People are the ones being victimized by the nepotism And what the hey, the swimming lessons are free!

Ha ha, the CIA doesn't "shred" anything. In fact they are the worlds largest repository or useless information. They have mountains of the stuff. Information is "destroyed" when it suits them to be "destroyed" in the minds of the people they don't want to have it. They say it does not exist, therefore it doesn't

OMG, are you kidding me. His fathers, fraternity brother and friend? Would you be responsible for ANYTHING your college schoolmates did? Ridiculous. Or is it only because George Bush is "involved" in your little theory that must make it true? Why don't you stop the hate?
