Hello, I live in the Lower Mainland of BC and Im just wondering if anyone knows where I can buy a small plate of glass that is about 5 inches by 7 inches or so.

Any glass shop can cut it to the dimensions you want.
You might also see if you can buy a cheap small 5x7 picture frame and take out its glass to use.

All answers so far are valid. I'd give the 10 to Rich Z, for first, and I like the suggestion about buying a cheap picture frame, anywhere and just using it's glass.
One must assume you mean picture frame or window pane glass, in that case.

If there are any "dollar" stores around your area, buy a 5"X7" picture frame with glass. I live in SE US and here they sell for about US$ 1.50 to $2.00.

A glazier? Or buy a glass cutter and cut up an old storm window.
