Most stores don't sell the 60GB PS3 anymore. The majority of stores only sell the 40GB and 80GB PS3's.
You will most likely have to buy one online from Amazon, Ebay, or some other website.
I've seen the prices for the new 60GB PS3's that are selling on Amazon.com, and they cost $600 dollars and up. Even though the price on the 60GB PS3 was dropped to $499, the sellers know that the 60GB PS3 is discontinued and it's pretty rare to come by.
Also, the 60GB PS3 is the most desired because it has the same features as the 80GB PS3 and it has full backwards compatibility with PS1 and PS2 games. So if you find one online that's brand new, you'll have to dish out a little more cash for one
