Both and neither. Religious belief is based on the the strength of your personal faith. Father Christmas evolved from a Scandinavian pagan religious persona of religious faith that evolved into faith in the teachings and and ubiquitous presence of Jesus Christ. Many believe that that date of December 25th is related to the winter solstice. The date is only significant because it has the least amount of day light in the northern hemisphere and the longest amount in the southern hemisphere. Religious faith has very little relationship to specific dates or science. It is a state of mind that controls your conscious and unconscious thoughts and actions.

Neither. Father Christmas, or St Nicholas was a few days ago. Jesus Christ was born in mid september as far as historians can make out.
The 25th of December is mainly used for Christmas Day after the meetings held by the Catholic church in the 600 Ad time when all christian religious festivals where set. Christmas was taken over from the Winter Solstice festivals celebrated at that time (mid winter 21st of december, bit of a coincidence really)
The Christian calender and celebrations are based on outdated, highly false data delivered by Moks, Priests and Scientists who did not have all the facts availiable to them, after all there are some sects out there that still think the world is only 7000 odd years old for goodness sake.

Neither Jesus' birthday..or Father Christmas.
Just who is Father Christmas...are you thinking Saint Nick? Saint Nicholas' Day is according to the Gregorian Calender...December 6th...and the Old Julian Calender...it is celebrated December 19th...very close to Christmas indeed.

Neither. Jesus was actually born in September sometime. That's the truth. And there is no Father Christmas.

Funny surname, Christ.
I've looked in the telephone book, and there's no Mr & Mrs Christ at all.
There must be a Mr Christ because I found something he owns. It was called Christ's Church.
His first name is a bit odd as well.
Do you know anybody called Jesus?
I know somebody called Clarence - but can't think of anyone called Jesus.
I wonder if maybe he is not real?
Maybe someone made him up.
Somebody with a warped sense of humour.

Neither. It's just a couple of days after the winter solstice.
Edit:
Jesus, if he actually existed, has an unknown birth date but guesses are that he would have been born in the spring. St Nick also has an unknown birthday, the 25th was just when he chose to deliver presents.

We don't really know for sure. They say it's both their birthdays that day, but it just a guess. We don't really know when their real birthdays are so someone probably just took guess. We probably knew around the time when Jesus was born so we took a guess on the day but I'm not sure about Father Christmas.
