Ok, so I am a kid... please dont lecture me on how its wrong to look up porn I know and I feel really guilty about it. But I have 2 questions:

1)How would I remove all traces of it from my harddrive or computer

2)So, I have never actually downloaded porn. I have just looked at it on some websites, like gone to a website clicked on a picture or watched a movie. But I have never actually downloaded anything to my computer, does this still show up on my harddrive even after I cleared the history? (Even though nothing was ever downloaded?)

Well, hope you have an answer for me. And again I say please dont tell me how wrong it is, I already know and want to stop, actually I did. But I just got a pop-up saying "remove all traces of porn" so I didnt know how or if I needed to.

PS: If this includes downloading a FREE scan (must be free) how do I get rid of that afterwards?

Clear your history and temporary internet files. If you haven't downloaded anything, that's all you'll need to do.

That pop-up is just a scam getting you to download malicious software which will do no good for your computer.

You have to perform a "secure delete" to remove information permanently. This is the only real way to erase information off of magnetic media. This works by encrypting the data and deleting it many times and finally overwriting itr until its nothing more than unreadable code. Shredding is another technique but not nearly as effective. Also. The US Dept of Defense endorse "secure delete" as the only way to permanently remove data. You can do it your self or get a third party deletion software will cost you about $25 but make sure its endorsed with the US DoD santization procedures.

Minddoctor, is his parents going to ask expert computer forsenic people to investigate.....yes it is possible but really..do you think that would be reality? unless his parents suspect so? Or his parents go to http://www.disklabs.com/computer-forensics.asp ...
He wants a basic solution not a police-law-enforcement lecture on how he could be caught..so in short you did not answer his questions, but gave revelent facts.

http://www.iobit.com/advancedwindowscareper.html
or
http://www.ccleaner.com/
will erase securely of all traces.
Its not on your hard drive/computer..if you didn't download it unless you have Trojans/spy ware..
Secure deletion prevents retrieving these traces, easily.

does this still show up on my hard drive even after I cleared the history? (Even though nothing was ever downloaded?)
Yes, content IE files and other hidden system files unless you use an application. .DAT files also ><

Use Mcafee siteadvisor to prevent browser hijacks..etc if you do tend to visit porn websites in the future.

I advise caution when entering porn websites, which team up with malware/malicious script/activeX *harmful/spyware/worms/trojans/spyware/cookies/destructive code

I even have been a contractor for a intelligence organization, an i will tell your that that's impossible to eliminate the information on your HDD, with any style of utility. no be counted what the seller tells you approximately any technique, bleech, write many times the HDD, not something will eliminate the information. the only way you are able to preclude a working laptop or pc forensic professional from stripping the information of a HDD, is to take the HDD, out of your laptop and beat it to dying with a hammer. or you are able to eliminate the HDD, and place in a secure place, like, and replace with a sparkling HDD. I have been a contractor for a intelligence agency, an I can tell your that it is impossible to remove the data on your HDD, with any kind of software. No matter what the vendor tells you about any technique, bleech, write over and over the HDD, nothing will remove the data.

The only way you can prevent a computer forensic expert from stripping the data of a HDD, is to take the HDD, out of your pc and beat it to death with a hammer.

Or you can remove the HDD, and place in a secure place, like, and replace with a new HDD.

If your parents are at all computer knowledgable, they will still be able to track where you have surfed. It doesn't matter if you clear your history and / or cookies. It's a simple procedure using free software to view your index.dat files.

Sorry for the bad news. Puke kids only think you are smart. Parents are smarter :-)
