We lose about 10 billion dollars annually to the economy of occupied Palestine. They literally live on American largess. Most of the fund-raising isn't even legal since few jewish orgs are registered as fiscal agents for a foreign power. But who knows or would care, when they dominate the press and through that and AIPAC the politicians?

Those numbers are suspect. North America was very thinly populated for most of its history. Except for a few thorougly disgusting incidents, deaths of American Indians were from disease, and that was nobody's fault. Some died in battle, but these were always small incidents--twenty or thirty soldiers on either side. We're not talking the Battle of Antietam, here. The destruction of the American Indian, however it happened, was indeed a tragedy, and a great one. But it was probably unavoidable: on this side of the ocean was a rich continent guarded by almost nobody but hunter-gatherers or primitive farmers. On the other side of the ocean was Europe, impossibly overcrowded, choking on its own diseases, generations of its children starving, and ravaged by wars that made any improvements there impossible. The Indians didn't have a chance. Fully one-half of Scandinavia and Ireland left in only a few years. Same with Germany and Scotland and the Low Countries. These were technologically-advanced people with metals, skills, and weapons, and who were starving and desperate. There was just no way the Indians would have survived. Had the place filled up more slowly, like Canada did, then we might have been able to be as careful and deliberate about aboriginal affairs as they were, but that's not how it happened. And even their native peoples aren't doing all that well.

American Jews are a constant reminder to the rest of America of the guilt our nation feels over it inaction during the Holocaust, which is one of the main reasons that America supports Isael. We have this mindset that, we just sat back and let them die, the least we can do is let those that are left have a place to live. And whenever that support starts to waiver, there are enough Jewish Americans around to be a constant reminder. So Israel would not have nearly the financial backing it does without the contributions and influence of American Jews, but I would never doubt the resolve of the Israeli Jews to hold on to their homeland. Even without the substantial financial and military aid they gain fro America, they are a very tough and determined people. The Holocaust forged them into implacable warriors. They are determined to never let a event like that happen again so they will fight to their last breath. Israel would probably have seen even more war if not for American weapons making the wars it has fought end quickly.

The State of Israel was established from the ashes of the Holocaust. After 2000 years of exile the Jewish people returned to Eretz Israel. It is true that Israel relied on foreign help at the beginning, but now it is the one and only democracy in the Middle East. Many African and Asian countries became independent during the 1960-s and became poor dictatorships. The Israeli democracy is different from those former colonies because it gives freedom and prosperity to its people. In that sense Israel is close to the US as a friend and ally.

Another angry blast at the 'Jews'! Here in Arizona we have several reservations set aside for 'native Americans....reservation that were established to keep the redskins our of the hair of the palefaces. It costs a lot of money to keep those reservations functioning...money....food....and lobbying of American politicians. After WW2 American and European 'palefaces' decided to set up a reservation for Jews...they called it Israel and it served the same purpose as the indian reservations...'let's keep these people away from white folks'! Anti-semetic 'white folks' such as the guy that posted this 'question' got their wish.....a reservation for 'The Jews'! Now their complaining about the expense. I guess they're thinking about another 'final solution' to save a few bucks.....sometimes 'ya gotta' wonder about these people!

Under the boot of Islasmic facism, which would by now have reached your shores... oops... already did that. Why so racist???? As an atheist I don't care who believes in what but I would rather have Israel as the front line than be in a situation of "convert or die" which is the basic position of these nut cases.... don't fancy beheading or sexual slavery.

American Judaism is as diverse as the chritianity in America. Many American Jews are secular, perhaps as many as religious jews, and there is a big difference.
The secular Jews are slowly accultureateing/intigrating into mainstream white America and disappearing.
and yes, most Jews who chose not to return/immigrate to Israel are still very very supportive of the Jewish presence in their ancient homeland.
I might add that only a couple of years ago the Jewish population of the US became smaller than that of Israel. Mostly because of the mass-immigration from the old Soviet Union.
