Have you tried carrying him in a sling? Being snugged up close to your body might relax and calm him.

A dog that whines means it is in pain. This can be mental or physical. First of all, get your dog tested by a vet. It might have worms in its stomach that hurt. Secondly take it for long walks are labradors have a lot of surplus energy which they must burn in some way or the other. Don't keep it tied the whole day. Give it a bone or a soft toy to play with. That will keep it involved. Hope your dog is physically fit. But di get it de wormed. Also make it exercise and make sure it is warm and has something to play with. Hope this helps. All the best. Do let me know!

My 5 month old is the same way, nothing I do makes her happy, she whines all day long...however...I can buy some time with the Baby Eintstien movies...not always, but most of the time she is happy watching them, I feel bad putting her infront of the TV so much, but it seems to be the ONLY thing that makes her happy at least some of the time...

She naps for only 20 to 30 max 3 times a day and falls asleep everytime I feed her, nothing we do makes her nap longer..but I wonder if she is just tired all the time because she does not nap enough...she sleeps well at night with 2 to 3 feedings.

Do we just have a fussy baby...will she grow out of it?

Sleep, he probably needs more. If he's rubbing his eyes, he's tired. If he's yawning, he's tired. If you notice that he starts getting cranky, feed him, and put him in the crib for a nap. My now 11 month old gets really whiney if she doesn't sleep enough. She goes to bed at night at 630pm! Crazy. Try it, you just never know. You might be pleasantly surprised. Goodluck!

My son was like that until he started crawling...opening drawers and damaging stuff definitely made him happier :) Wait, you will get there soon.
