Try this most of your friends marriages are second, not the first.

Hold on to your single days as long as you can, until one of the female cowgirls comes along catches you and sends you to the slaughter house.

Just kidding, just got to work together to keep it going.

Pick your battles.

My generation failed your generation. We gave you what we didn't have. And we didn't give you what we had. We gave you freedom, allowed you to be disrespectful, bought you what you wanted when you wanted it, never made you respect your elders, never told you no, never told you the truth, ect. We didn't discipline you, we made you think you were better than everyone else even though you really shouldn't have played sports, we taught you that you come first above all others and at the expense of others. We bailed you out of the trouble you got yourself in instead of letting you face the consequences. For this I'm sorry!! Until we get back to the basics the world will continue as it has. I feel bad about the world my future grandchildren will inhabit.

You are very wise...As looking back at my child-hood it is so different than today. I had a stay at home mom(women who worked were looked at as poor mothers and the men who had women who worked were considered losers) Went to church on Sunday..and MYF...I had Y_Teens (Christian Org) in High School..Said the Christian Flag Salute...Could read..didn't have a baby..or all these sex, disease, drugs, eating disorders, plastic surgery, sexy clothes problems. We had music classes rather than Sex Ed. We had so many wonderful school activities..close family ties. My mom and dad were married 71 years...was it easy? No....but they worked at their marriage through rough and good times rather than running to the divorce court or having affairs. As a teacher I really hope that people will open their eyes and go back to basics if for no other reason but to save our children "Our children are our future..Children now days feel they do not have much of a future..This is so sad.

I don't think this generation is going to go back to traditional ways. There are so many people who are negative on others beliefs/faiths/morals/values. I think the trend is to be as critical as possible - to be cool.

There are a lot of kids who get so much stuff, they don't even appreciate that much. They ask, or demand things. Do parents show and teach their children to even send thank you notes anymore. It could even be a thank you email, although less personal.

The problem seems to lie in the fact that you are the end of the "me" generation. Their parents wanted to give them a better life, and they then adopted the "me first" attitude. In the main, the generation coming along behind has a better grip on reality, and the older traditions shall prevail.

Very observant. I believe its gonna get worse and worse until divorce is not so easily attained or the "chic-ness" has worn off. Also, I think the sixties were the beginning of the end.

I am impressed that at 24 you happen to notice. I hope that the traditional ways come back. It is so sad to see these
"happy couples" buy homes, have children and do nothing else with each other except fight and use their small children as pawns,, they won't admit it, but they do it.

My generation has been very self-centered for sure. But some of us have been happily married for 30 years or more.
Let your generation see that.

Face it, we live in a disposable society, and one of the things people throw away are their marriages...or they want to upgrade everything, including their spouse..people suck
