I try to be honest, but I admit that I am not sometimes. The reasons for my dishonesty are attempts to not be hurtful. At those times its just easier to say what you think the other person wants to hear.

I usually tell lies when i'm afraid if I tell the truth and someone will get mad at me so i tell lies. But she found out that I lied and yelled at me. I think it's better to tell the truth because truth will set you free.

Our sin nature. The carnal/fleshly mind. Since Adam fell we have tried to run our lives in our perception. Our perception is corrupted with out Christ. Our perception is self indulgent and unwilling to sacrifice.
The Bible states that - All that is in the world is the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.
Those three things run this world if you break anything in the world down to it's core. Those who search after those things will lie. They cannot stop lying because they know no other way. They can know mentally not to lie because of this or that consequence. But they don't, posses the Spirit to take over the carnal mind and prevent these things from happening and or at least repent. Only the Spirit of the Holy one can prevent you from defiling yourself and persecuting justice.

Sometimes it enables me to get what I want faster....but I have learned over the years that lying just doesn't pay....and if you are indeed a liar....try telling the truth....there maybe some consequences involved ....but I'm sure you will feel better about yourself at the end of the day....Good Luck buddy....on your Truthfulness in the future....
