I have started to chart my temperature last month, but it drives me crazy sometimes. I would measure my temperature one time, and it would show me a different temperature when I do it right after the first one. And then the third time, it is different again!! Am I doing something wrong? I do it first thing in the morning before I even get out of bed. Does this happen to you too?

As you start waking up and get more active your temperature does go up. Only check your temperature once each morning and you will not have that problem.

PS I know why you are charting it.

You are doing it right by taking it before getting out of bed in the am. The longer you are up and moving, the more variation you will have.

Charting works well for some people but remember the temp spike comes already after you've ovulated so it may be too late to conceive.

I suggest charting along with just watching your body. You'd be amazed how timely it will be. Use a small pocket calendar and keep track of when your periods start and end, breast tender, clear cervical mucus, etc. Once you are able to put a pattern to your period, you will have a better chance of conceiving. BD 14 days prior to your next scheduled period and do it every other day for a week. Try for a year and if it don't work, see a doctor to get a little help.

Good luck and remember to have fun while TTC!!!

Taking your temperature is a very good way to track ovulation, and it can let you know of possible fertility issues. You're only supposed to really go by the very first one that you take. As you regain consciousness (lol) your temperature will start to go up. All you need to do is take it one time every day right after waking...before getting up or anything. You should go buy the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. I learned so much about charting from it. Good Luck!

Are you charting your temperture to find out when your ovulating?
You won't get it excat, Its better to use an ovulation kit.
and work with your last menstual period, and calculate the period in witch you are most likely to ovulate.

Hope it helps.
(Stop taking your temperture)
