Have governments ever used human breeding to produce superior armies?

The Nazis tried to. However, they were not in power long enough for very many of their experiments to reach fighting age.

However, the Spartans of ancient Greece did essentially the same thing by eliminating the unhealthy members of their society at birth, thus straining the weak from their gene pool.

That was one of Hitlers ambitions, his generals also looked into developing LSD type drugs as a way to intensify the kill mood of their front line troops, Angel dust was a spin off, they were looking to find some drug that would enable their troops to fight for weeks at a time without sleep or fear etc. Prisoners were experimented on in the concentration camps then the bodies were burned. When Hitlers mad scientists were captured they were sent to the US and resettled in places like New Mexico and other places. Some folks say the CIA took Hitlers playbook and re designed his rule the world ambitions as their own, apparently they even started selling designer drugs and used their vast fleet of aircraft to ship them around the world. The only way they can get away with that is that the planes have the CIA seal on the outside and therefore are exempt from customs or border checks.

Thats like what hitlers plan was to do. but he had to kill off the people who he thought weren't superior, do tests on them etc. because then when the "non superior" people were all dead then the only race left would be the superior which would then breed and create more superior people. so then only superior people would be left to be in the armies. ;)
