My dad once needed to transfer $5000 from one bank to another for his company (I mean the company he owned). This was back in the late 40s, before i was born, when $5000 would buy a three-story brick house! (well, not really) He wanted to own some $1000 bills, just for a short time. He had to order them ahead of time, but banks would do that in those days. But the biggest notes I've ever seen were $100. A few years ago we redesigned all our banknotes in the US (except the $1 bill, which was planned at the time to be discontinued and replaced with a coin.) I was at a taqueria in my neighborhood a few years ago when someone brought in a new $100 bill, and they ended up passing it around to everyone in the place so they could look at it! Since then I've had a few $100 bills. There was a really funny film made years ago with Cary Grant where he plays a bum and a banker gives him a million-pound note as part of a bet. The joke is that everywhere he goes he buys things and then presents the million-pound note, and everyone figure he's an eccentric millionaire, and they can't change the note anyway, so they just give him the stuff. At the end of the film Grant is rich and he gives back the note. 8^)

For the same reason the White House knew for 4 years that Iraq wasn't building a nuclear bomb.

They're liars.

What the heck does something that happened over 60 years ago have to do with what is going on now. Or are you going to prosecute the children for the crimes of the grandfather?
