this thought just occured to me.....

if you had someone with a rather vast amount of electricity in their brain....and say, if they were having a seizure, would a portable EMP device be able to actually stop the seizure from occuring. obviously you'd know the health risks, wouldn't be great anyway, even IF it could happen

this is all theoretical by the way.....so negative comments are also of use

Hmmm. I don't think the pulse would do anything. You would need to have contact with the person and allow for conductivity to the brain. If you did I'm still not sure it would help with a seizure.

The idea of using EMP sounds novel and less invasive than other possible means of zapping a malfunctioning brain, but hasn't someone already tried some form or amount of ECT to interrupt a seizure?

In any case, I expect in a few years hence, all this talk will probably sound as bizzarre as bloodletting!

Huh, interesting question, especially since my husband has epilapsy because of his heart problems. In theory it makes sense, but in actuality it will start them, because the extra electricity would trigger the seizure even faster. Spoke to a neurologist about this, under a similar theory several years ago, except I was just gonna nab him with a live wire! *LOL*
Hey you have to have a sense of humor sometimes to deal with the stresses of life.:O))))
