Niedermayer wanted to give up the captaincy to Pronger last year, but Burke said no.

In September, Burke said the C was Pronger's whether Scott came back or not.

I think Pronger definitely will keep it. In the past, its been hinted that Pronger will keep it, even if Niedermayer returned.

Regardless, I think it would be weird for Anaheim to give Niedermayer the "C". Probably just in the best interests of the Ducks to maintain the status quo rather than mix things up because one guy decides he wants to play again.

Did I just see folks saying Teemu or Getzlaf deserves it? Why not just give it to Liane Pronger? Of course big dirty Chris keeps it, Burke looks pretty pissed about Niedermayer coming back. Like, really ticked off. Quote of the year: "I made it clear we're not going through this dance again next year."

I was expecting the latter part to read "when can we expect Selanne back?"

I think Pronger keeps it. Unless of course Pronger offers it up to him, which actually will probably be the case so it then depends on whether Neidermayer accepts his offer.

Yeah, really. What kind of guy, would sit and watch his team struggle, while he sits on his a$$, at home, trying to decide if he wants to play anymore. If I was the Ducks players, I would say, thanks, but no thanks, we are fine without ya. Its not like his old a$$ is going to win the Norris anyway. Just wait and see, when the Ducks become one of those teams, that wins a cup, then misses the playoffs the next year.

It will defiantly go back to Niedermayer, but if Teemu comes back as well, it'll probably go to him.
