when you are turning 30 in a few days you look at life like in 30 more years I am going to be 60? When I was a kid I wanted to be 16 so I could drive then 18 so I could legally smoke cigarrettes and then 21 so I could legally drink.. All of these I did more of when I was underage except for the driving part.. Back then life was so slow like summertime was so long and now its like the weeks are passing me by. It feels like it was the weekend just yesterday and now it's here again gone tommorrow. Did anyone else feel like this when you were or are going through your 30th year? Just curious if this is a normal part of life. Thoughts around my birthday back then compared to now were like "Yippee it's my birthday!!!" (Doing a little birthday dance) Now its like "Damn I am turning 30 on monday (Sarcastically) Yippee:( wow getting older now this sucks

It reminds me of the song by Kenny Chesney, "Don't Blink", I think everyone thinks the same way, but we're all different.

I turned 22 in august, and I was thinking, wow, i'm 1/4 of the way dead.. kind of sadistic but it's reality. I guess all you can do is live everyday like it's your last one. Everyone is worried about thier credit score, debt, having life insurance, getting a new car..house...whatever...

Sure getting older does suck, i'm only 22, but I think i can relate to you somewhat, but it's part of life, i guess you can say to yourself that these next 30 years will be the best years of your life....

Happy birthday btw..

Well from here on out it gets worse. Just kidding. Every ten years or so you reach a milestone, 30s, 40s, 50s, etc. You re-evaluate your life. Don't sweat it and don't regret it. Make sure you're doing something positive and satisfying in the present. The people that have the most regrets or spend the most time lingering in their past aren't living fulfilling lives. Its okay to think back and enjoy memories, but if your present doesn't satisfy you, change it and make it so. Aging should be an adventure, not a death sentence. Best of luck

Whoever said "grow up" shut up! It's very normal to be thinking that way. I am 27 turning 28 in a few weeks and I am dreading turning 30 feeling the same way as you. You want to have the freedom to do what you want like drinking, smoking and such, however, upon becoming of age you realized you wasted the best part of your childhood wanting to get older. I understand your birthday thing but with age we all get better, right? The time issue of life going faster I was told will revert back to time slowing down as we get towards the end of our lives. Enjoy your life your not even at the middle of it yet!!!!!

i know how you feel . i sure wish i was 16 again and you are right summertime as kid just seemed to last forever. now it seems like just yesterday it was spring and here it is winter again. somebody needs to invent a time machine so we can go back to an age we were really happy at and stay there

time to grow up and stop looking back, if you are going to have a future, you should have started thinking about it when you were 20, not just now when you are turning 30. But, you can still have a good and effective life, just have to stop looking back, the past is gone and can do you no good.
