...been trying to keep tabs on this particular project, myself; I was a real big fan of the trade-size comic book, back in the '70's, when Warren Publishing originally put it out (...along with publisher Forrest J. Ackerman's pulp horror film magazine, 'Famous Monsters of Filmland'...way back when Fangoria was just a weird word)...
...unfortunately, despite the occasional rampant rumor, a deadly serious and dark cinrmatic rendition of the comic, has yet to find development; in the advent of films like "Bloodrayne", "Ultraviolet", "Resident Evil" and "Aeon Flux", which all contain sexy and kick-*** anti-hero-type babes as the main characters, I'm actually surprised that someone hasn't gotten serious about doing "Vampirella" right...
...the 1996 version of "Vampirella", which was culled from the Roger Corman production camp, was sorta O.K., in a dark superhero sort of way, but had nowhere near the dark, macabre and intriguing tongue-in-cheek humor of the original comic (...at leaast the actress who played the character, was suitably luscious and sexy)...
