How do I tell a friend I don't want her cooking in my kitchen?

I am not terribly good friends with her, however she is the girlfriend of my busband's best friend. I don't want to make anything awkward, but she makes a mess. Last night she left powder sugar all over the counters, floor, and walls. She even melted plastic on the stove burner. I don't think she realizes what a big mess she makes. (this happens while I am at work and my husband and her boyfriend are working on their cars)

Really, the best thing to do is simply tell her that you don't want her cooking in your kitchen. The key is tact. Say it in the nicest way possible. If she asks why, just tell her you're particular about the way your kitchen is set up, and you'd rather be the only one who cooks in it. But don't mention the mess she's made.

Don't worry about making things awkward, she obviously didn't care about making a mess in your kitchen. I mean really what kind of person leaves a mess like that in someone elses home. Tell her if she is going to cook to clean up after herself. Or you could tell her not to use the kitchen at all, it is your house you decide.

be blunt and subtle at the same time! tell your husband how you feel, then as a joke mention how you hate people in your kitchen in front of all of them. that way next time when you are not there they will know to leave the kitchen alone. THIS ONLY WORKS IF YOUR HUSBAND BACKS YOU UP WHEN YOU ARE NOT THERE, tell him to remind them how pissed off you get when you see ANYBODY in YOUR kitchen
