the republicans and democrats are both the same. The only thing that is important to them is gaining a vote. the democrates scream that they have no control over bringing the troops back to the usa. but truth is they have the power to stop funding the war and bush wouldn't have a choice but to bring the troops back, same to most of the republicans who feel the same way. what makes me even more disgusted is how both parties make promises during campaigns and do another on capital hill. I've been a democratic follower for years but this year i'm voting independent.
MY question is am i the only one who feels this way and what's your opinion about the democratic and republican parties?

Yes! We need someone who will represent the American people, and not big business lobbies, union lobbies and certainly not listen to Mexico's govt's demands! Each side has moved away from what main stream America wants.

I voted for Perot twice...I thought i was doing it as an act of defiance, but it turns out it was a futile thing to do...even less than voting for someone who had a possibility to win...any fear put into politicians by millions deciding that both major parties were corrupt was forgotten about in a few years.
The fact is that it just has not gotten bad enough for a 3rd party to rise in competition to the other 2...I hope it happens because it will be a more democratic country if no party has absolute power...even if just for 4 years at a time.

Reform movements are an ever-present worry for both parties’ bosses, because any successful reform put forward by regular citizens and insurgents in Congress tends to excite the electorate with the possibility of actually controlling their own government. The ruling class well understands that as the engagement of the citizenry waxes, their own power wanes. And it is war and the threat of war that provide the best excuse for not passing social-welfare legislation, and calling anyone who demands it “unpatriotic.”
The Democrats think Republicans are stealing elections. The Republicans think Democrats are stealing elections. And those of us independent of the two old parties know they are both right. -- Kevin Zeese

I 2d the action. they are approximately as federal as federal convey. Inflationary taxation is the worst form of illegitamate taxation, and our founding fathers waged a conflict over direct taxation. In important, that's mass counterfeit declared legal by utilising the Federal Reserve Act of 1913.

Believe it or not it is working the way it should...although I agree it can frustrating..
Think about it though...It is in our human nature that we fight amongst each other (regardless of the type of fight it is)
The two party system is design so they attack each other vice having time to oppress the people.
The forefathers knew what they were doing.. by creating our system of government..because they understood human nature. (The two party concept was something that evolved later)
Even if we were to abolish both parties...eventually people will gravitate to two parties (Call them whatever you want)
If you don't agree, ask any pundit in politics...they will agree (not because I said so) but because with REASON...you will come up with the same conclusion.

No! The two parties are actually VERY different. If the media's portrayal of the two parties has led you to simply be jaded as is their goal, then you're simply a victim as planned. Stop believing everything as it is spoon fed to you. You are a jaded fool!

That is why I am an independent American voter.
I do not need a party to do my thinking for me or to tell me what I should believe/support.
