I live in FL and the last I knew which was about 2 years ago a 16 year old could date up to a 24 year old. Someone on here said they passed a new law in Jan. saying that it was statutory rape...have they passed a new law and I just dont know about it?

From what I understand, it's always been considered stat rape for an adult to have intimate relations with a minor. Anyone under 18 is a minor.

No, the laws the same. The age of consent is 18, except that an adult under 24 can legally have sex with a 16 or 17 year old.

Statutory rape is only if you have sex, not just dating.
