The shooter was probably a sociopath whose traits were not recognized by his parents or the school counselor. Sociopaths hide their condition extremely well.
Give each child in school now a psychiatric evaluation test.
Start these tests at the first grade level, another one at the eighth level, then the 10th grade level, then the seniors. And, make it mandatory!
This will be challenged as some invasion of the child's rights, and wind up being taken to the Supreme Court of the U.S.
But, to save one life? Take em on in court, and make it stick with a top lawyer!!!!

The decay of morals and values in our society has brought us to the point of destruction. The only thing that will turn it around is if we turn back to God as our source and away from our wicked ways. Specifically, bringing God back into the public sector like on governmental buildings, and in schools so we become a praying nation like our forefathers were is a start.

Lack of good old fashion discipline to get their attention and respect.
When I was growing up there was no such thing as A.D.D., A.D.H.D., etc. Parental discipline kept our attention on what was expected or we suffered the wrath of the hand, belt, or switch.
I turned out just fine.
