getting braces off was less painful to me than having them put on. it will feel very weird afterwards. the only thing that kind of hurt me was when the pulled the four brackets in the back off my molars. they use this odd sort of shaped tool that just pops it off kind of like a hole punch
they use a couple of tools that basically look like tweezers or pliers and the just "clip them off". you will then have to have the exess glue removed I think my dentist not my ortho did that.
Call your dentist about teeth whitening. My dentist actually recommended crest white strips first. And if that didn't work they could do a stronger version for under $500 for a similar tray system. Zoom whitening is a lot more exspensive, but not sure how much.

I got my braces off 6 years ago after wearing them for 8 lol. It doesn't hurt. There's a bit of pulling when they take the different pieces off, and your normal removal of the wire that Im sure youre used to... and then they scrape off the glue that held it all in. I think that was probably the worse part since they can get a little rough but it definitely didn't hurt.
As far as whitening, I dont know the actual cose of the dentist, but I found some really great stuff at the grocery store that works well. Its called Plue White 5 minute Speed Whitening Gel.
Happy for you!

Getting your braces off doesn't hurt that much. If anything, your jaw will be sore the most from having your mouth open for so long, while they are taking them off. Every once in a while, there will be a tough spot where the braces are REALLY tough to get off, but like I said, nothing too bad. They take the wires out first, and then one by one, pluck off the brackets on each tooth that holds the wire. No big.

Oh, Congratulations!!! I remember how excited and happy I was to get mine off. I wouldn't say the procedure hurt, it was very uncomfortable and you had to keep ur mouth opened forever!! After they scrape ur teeth to remove the glue, which tastes kinda funny. I recommend getting Crest Whitestrips afterwards. They worked really well for me, and you save a ton of money. Good luck!!

It doesn't hurt, but it's uncomfortable. And you'll feel like your teeth are humongous afterwards, but don't worry about it. It's just a perception problem.
I had mine taken off 7 years ago but if I recall correctly, they put in the lip-widening thing and had me bite down hard on a bunch of cotton. Then my orthodontist grabbed each bracket with a pair of pliers and pulled them off. It's definitely not as bad as it might sound.

No worries. I got my braces off a while ago... oh jeez. I was totally freaked out because I remember other times where they've had to pop my brackets off and resituate them. That was gonna happen to ALL MY TEETH. I promise you though, it is actually not a big deal at all. It feels funny and slightly uncomfortable because they have to pop the stupid things off with their little pliers. But having them off it MORE than worth it.

It's more of a nails on chalkboard feeling. They take these plyer looking things & pull them off. Seriously when I went to the orthodontist I had no clue they were taking them off & I thought they were fixing my wires then they told me to go look in the mirror & that's when I saw they were gone.
GOOD LUCK! YOU'RE SMILE WILL BE BEAUTIFUL!

no it doesnt hurt. you feel pressure. like when they take out a molar it doesnt hurt, its just lots of "pushing and pulling" pressure. i had braces for 4 years..when i finally got them taken off it was so worth the wait!
the teeth witening is approximately $350.00

it doesn't exactly hurt, it's just really uncomfortable. they will remove the brackets with a plier like too, then scrape all the glue off (that's the uncomfortable part)
