I've been reserching and found out that more than half of the teens in america still wet the bed. I wet the bed untill I was 14 and know the troubles of it but while researching I found many sites and people saying that you shouldn't make your kids who wet the bed wear diapers but I know that when I wet the bed I'd ask to wear diapers because it was the easiest form of staying clean, no stupid alarms to beep after you've already peed, and I thought they were comfortable. What do you think? Do you remember ever having to wear diapers? Did you have accidents? Should kids wear diapers to bed if they have accidents? Do diapers help accidents? Anything diaper related might help my search.

my older sister and brother wet the bed and they wore diapers. but i really didn't consider them diapers because they looked like real underwear. I don't think there's anything wrong with wearing them. The only downside that I see is being at a sleepover and people finding out you're wearing them, but then again it shouldn't matter what people think as long as your comfortable and confident

Possible reasons for bedwetting:
Some have medical problems, others weren't potty trained. It might be because they are under a lot of stress, or if its was just once, someone did the hand in warm water trick during a sleepover. Finally, less teenagers wet the bed on purpose, either trying to become a bedwetter/incontinent (...so they can wear diapers or something), or just plain fun (I don't know why)

Diaper related things:
I think diapers are confortable (as long as I can remember), and yes, when I was younger, I had a few accidents here and then. Diapers do help accidents during the night (and the day) because it is a way for kids to stay dry although they pee. On the other hand, it doesn't push or help them go to the bathroom/wake up to go. Diapers can become pricey though, and most of the kids hate bedwetting alarms(they are inconfortable). Instead, just try to wake the person up sometime during the night to go pee.

Hope it helps!

Man, you're bringing back some bad memories. I did wet the bed when I was a kid, I really don't suggest diapers as such, but I think really pull-up sorts of things are much better. Its certainly better than peeing all over yourself. That can really mess with a kids self esteem. As with diapers and pull ups, the kids can basically deal with the whole cleaning up thing by themselves and I think that's much easier/less humiliating.

Personally, I did have to wear diapers, The horrid old people ones, cause my family couldn't afford the expensive pull up types. Once a kid who was sleeping over found out. That was a bit humiliating.

half of the us teenagers p*ss themselves when they sleep.. Wierd...

Well if it were me I'd throw a towel or two along the middle of the bed to soak it up, but 50% .. what the fck, is it a genetically passed down trait - or something?....

I think if they want to wear diapers or line the bed with towels they should be free to do so but not forced, and if they refuse then they do have to change the bed themselves.

Diapers would probably be degrading for most, so that's why I'd use the towels.

..50%, that's f*ckin' crazy....

They sell special ones called Goodnights and they look and feel like underwear but give protection if there is an accident. I dont see them to be a bad idea as it keeps the sheets and the PJs clean.
