It depends where you live, and the caliber of the lawyer you hire.

If you need a lawyer, contact your local Bar association, and ask them, tell them what you can afford, and they will give you a list of the names of lawyers who are in your budget.

There is no set amount for an attorney.

Public defenders can make anywhere from 30k to 100k per year while private attorneys can make anywhere from 50k to millions per year.
