Normally this is my favorite time of year but this year, I wish it would pass by really quickly. Santa will be here for my daughter this year and that is about it.

I don't get sad, I make happy things happen. I turn my life around. I take the next step, I'm looking forward to spring already. I planted a truckload of bulbs in one of the flower beds and it's gonna be SO PRETTY.
bake some cookies and give them to people!
Invite some friends over to play games and eat munchies and sip on soda. Last year, I moved out of state (best move I ever made) and I had been there three months come Christmas time and my birthday is after christmas. It WOULD have been depressing because I always go to dinner with friends and family on my birthday. No friends, no family... SO, I invited a bunch of people I barely knew and some I didn't and had a birthday party. It was the most awesome party ever and I have some steadfast friends now. We even had a white christmas and I never got those the 43 years I was in California! What a welcome! Go buy yourself a gift from Santa!

Santa is coming
You NON-BELIEVER!
Santa always comes to my house
In fact let me tell you a story
One Christmas Eve Night I was sleeping heavily in my bed. When all of a sudden I heard a tapping noise on my ceiling. tap tap tap. I was awake and listening, I heard a muffled voice of a man about 60. Thinking I was sure to get robbed of my presents that my parents had probably already placed under the tree I got up and took the first thing I spotted, A can of Febreze. I tip-toed quietly to the living room where I saw a plump man with a snow white beard and a cherry red nose. Could it be him. Was this Santa in MY house? Although these thoughts were in my head my first instinct was to spray the Febreze right at his eyes. It took me some time to realize that no it wasnt my dad in a suit and no it deffinitaly wasnt my mother. The Man didn't make a move but instead he stared at me with his Jolly-looking eyes. I knew at that moment that I was in the presence of the jolly, old, Santa! He said, "shhh do not speak, for no one must know that I exist. the world must be sleeping in the time that i deliver presents." I said "so Santa why dont you want people to know" and before I knew it he took out a sword and slashed my head off i was dead.
THE END

I am sad that I will be away from my family on Christmas.
As far as the Santa thing, I do not believe in Santa, which is fine because Christmas is not about Santa, it is about the birth of Christ.
Happy Holidays!

I think it's just about the expectations others create by making a big deal out of it (material-wise) -- like hearing others talk about their big plans, the big gifts they've gotten or given, the parties they've gone to or trips they've taken -- and that's hard to have to listen to for a while when yours is extremely meager and not so extravagant.
Just remember what Christmas is really about -- the TRUE meaning, and see what you can do to help others -- volunteer. And if you and your family are low on money, make crafts, bake cookies, go ice skating, watch holiday movies, go sight-seeing... there are always simpler ways of making it special -- as long as you're with the ones you care about.

It's not so much the Santa thing, it's the company I'm with.

I only get sad when I think about where I grew up. I wish I could go back just to spend one christmas with my mom but I have my own family and they want me here and my mom is too old to travel here and it is too exrensive for us to go there. So to all the moms whose children won't be home for Christmas MERRY CHRISTMAS.
