Than why should it be against the law for the citizens to do the same against our wives and children just to make them tell the truth about what we suspect wrong doing against OUR wishes (demands)?

The USA government has two standards. One for them and one for you. The USA is never wrong and you are.

Your question is absurd on SO many levels it's obvious you have to be a Democrat.

First, and most important, most of our wives and children are not planning to slaughter Americans by the wholsale lot. The three people 'waterboarded' by the CIA were.

In the three instances that the CIA reports the use of waterboarding, it was to gain immediate time-crtitical information about an ongoing terrorist operation that was actually already in progress, and where knowledge of "where" could save lives. In only one of the three cases did the person reveal critical knowledge - Sheikh Khalid Mohammed, who revealed information about several ongoing terrorist plots, as well as revealing the location of the body of David Pearl, whom he'd beheaded.

Secondly, the governments not 'into' waterboarding - it's been banned since 2003, LONG before it's use ever even became public.

Even ABC news, which is 'almost' as anti-Bush as CBS admits to the truth of this - see the news link below.
