maybe the food we eat also has the spirit inside, so when we fart, are this actually ghosts going out but instead of visual appearance, they make a smelly appearance?

That's a bit of an offensive question... I personally found it disrespectful toward spirits (but hey! That's just me) but consider this: The entire world we live in is a life cycle. Add in the fact that "What goes into the system of a living organism, must also come out...". I feel further eloboration is not required as gases tend to be a product of our metabolic pathways. I also feel "farts" are unrelated to ghosts as this can be debated scientifically taking into consideration the digestive system, the function of the body and how the metabolic pathways effect it on a genetic level. This itself is a combination of Biology and Chemistry.

Yeah you could say food has it's own essence, or 'spirit' as you might say. Each type of food can be seen metaphysically of being a certain nutrient to nourish the soul. White starchy foods (nutrient: carbohydrates) such as breads/pastries, etc., can be seen as white light energy. A lot of people will turn to these foods when their depressed because physically they want the energy, and the only way they can nourish their spirit is to 'eat' white carby foods. Thus, you end up farting heaps because your body tries to metabolise all the gluten (protein). And this fart ends up being the 'expended' nutrient of ones (foods?) soul.

There is a great Ren and Stimpy cartoon that deals with this concept. The cat farts one day and seems to think that he lost his inner spirit or essence and goes on to search and find himself. That story was a quite a gas.

This is funny, but it's not completely off the mark of how many paranormal-minded people think.

As far as the reasons I've heard why ghosts might exist, your idea really is not that much less credible. :)

No. I think it's just your brain using itself the only way it knows how; out your a*s. Chances are, what you're smelling is your own ignorant one. Beans for brains in, beans out.
