I see a troubling direction for this country. I feel this election may be the most relevent in our long history. We see now the same ideologue of those Russian Revolutionaries who brought to their country the collectivist mindset. Are we to be the Peoples State of America?

I speak not only of a small elite, but a vast majority of parasites.

Collectivism is the idea that we are all our brothers keepers.

Laramie;
I agree with you completely.
Do not mistake me for a Republican, that would be a great insult.

This country is very close to `Socialism' at this point.
We do not need a slow change at this point, we need a total 180 degree turnaround in a lot of our thinking as far as `free trade, immigration and welfare is involved. This country is in deep trouble. The government has been `fleecing' us Americans and we have been putting up with it thinking that we have no choice. Everyone is so scared of `Big Brother' that to even think about not paying your taxes brings fear from the IRS. People are stupid and brain-washed. I don't buy groceries or pay my bills unless I get a itemized receipt
showing me what I've gotten for my money. Let the IRS do the same .We need to Demand it or not pay them.

If the implication is that the Democrats are offering a collectivist agenda and the Republicans aren't, I disagree. The Republican front-runners, for the most part, aspire to a homogenized America in which collectivism takes the form of corporatism.

And when your party is losing, every election looks like "the most relevant," at least when making appeals to potential voters.

We are already being controlled by an elite few, or don't you know about that? We really have not been a land of free, democratic people for a long time. Just look at what the Bush administration has done in just a short period of time.

no from the 1900- up to and especially into the 1930's we were very close to becoming a socialist country. there was a coup attempt against FDR because bankers thought he was going to turn us into a socialist country.

right now we are just going through the same crap we do every presidential election cycle

You can rest easy. In America we only have socialism for the rich.
