What I mean by where do I begin is after high school. Do I have to have experience like at daycares and things or I simply start taking courses.

Great career choice, you can try to apply at the elementary school of your choice as substitute a teacher; for a few semesters while in college earning your degree.
That is what my sister-in-law did.
And now she teaches 2nd grade special ed. She loves it...
