this hurts. but sometimes you need to walk away.
this is not a true friend.
if you can, tell her. maybe she can learn from this.
but a friendship is a two way street. do not let yourself get hurt anymore.

I totally understand how annoying this can be. I have a few friends like that I can think of. I've figured out lately that some people are just like that. You can't really make them change. If I were you, I wouldn't confront him/ her about anything. By the fact that you're asking this question, I'm guessing you can tell that she/he is lying some of the time. Sometimes there are tell-tale signs, like if she/he doesn't look you in the eye. But try to read her/his body language and you'll be able to tell whether or not he/she is lying. Then you can be more comfortable around your friend.

i have the same problem, only with my sister. the little things are the worst especially when you know she's lying right off the bat. confront her and tell her "it bothers me when you lie. would you just cut it out and stop lying?" ask right after she lies. me and my sister would be in the middle of a real deep kinda heart to heart type conversation and right in the middle she'd lie and i'd nicely end the conversation. (thats not being sarcastic either. stop the conversation when she lies)
)o(
edit : it seems like a lot of the time she lies without reason.

Have a one on one talk with your buddy there. You have to be the big shot and ask her questions. Start out with something like, "We're friends right and well.... Do you really trust me? Please be honest." And well.. if your friend says yes of course.... I hope you have proof to show she is lying.
Here's a key thing here too... You got to tell your friend here "If you want to be my friend, you really have to start telling the truth. Promise?" This is a true test to see if your friend is a friend, or a liar.
That's pretty much my advice.

Ask your friend why ( in private) she does this and tell her it bothers you. Tell her you want a friend you can count on and trust not one who you dont know whether you can believe or not. You should also warn her that all this lying will eventually drive people away from her and she will end up alone.

You can confront her & let her know that she's lying. Then she will be less inclined to lie to you at least. If she keeps it up & you want to remain friends with her, just know that you can't really trust anything she says....and if that's the case, why would you want to be friends with her anyway?

ask yourself why she's lying. what is the purpose of the lies? to make herself cooler? to induce sympathy? is she covering a problem at home?
it's never a bad idea to be straight with your friends. let her know that you are worried about her and will do what it takes to help but that you don't appreciate being lied to.
you deserve the truth from your friends always. your friends deserve the truth from you

Sometimes people lie to make themselves sound..."better"or "cool". And sometimes people lie to feel better about themselves. Or it could be that there was a big lie, that she had to cover up with a bunch of little lies. Anyway, she doesnt sound like a very good friend.

There's not much you can do about another person. Maybe if you call them on the lies when you know their lying?
